Summer holiday in Sölden
Feel the wanderlust
From spring until well into autumn, everyone can find their personal favourite spot on the mountain in the valley of the 3000 m peaks. 300 km of marked hiking trails from the valley floor up to the summits, 30 alpine huts and 7 mountain railways - the mountain summer in Sölden has so much to offer. Alpine hikes, summit tours, or family-friendly circular and themed trails are accessible directly from the Hotel Garni Maria Theresia. Your destination is within reach because the mountain railways also operate in summer. Once you’re at the top, 360° mountain views, fresh alpine air and Ötztal Valley specialities await you in the catered restaurants. Almzeit in Sölden offers variety for the whole family, where many themed trails around Zwergerl and more offer playful hikes.
Saddle up and ride
In the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN, there has been an extensive trail network of shaped and long lines, natural trails and enduro trails since 2015. The Giggijochbahn cable car - just a few metres from the Hotel Garni Maria Theresia - takes you straight up to the trails. Off the trails there are also numerous mountain bike and road bike routes - uphill, in or out of the valley. The newly constructed Ötztal Cycle Path from Sölden to the valley entrance in Haiming is perfect for an extended e-bike tour of 50 km.
On a voyage of discovery
Summer in the Ötztal Valley also offers a lot for people who love nature and culture: There are the James Bond Museum 007 Elements at the Gaislachkogel, Motorcycle Museum Crosspoint at the Timmelsjoch Toll Station or Ötzi Village in Umhausen, to name just a few sights. For more far-reaching views and special natural spectacles, head to one of the countless viewing platforms in the Ötztal Valley. The Stuibenfall in Umhausen or the Timmelsjoch with 5 adventure stations or the Schwarze Schneid nature platform at over 3,000 m on the Rettenbach Glacier are always worth seeing. The outdoor park AREA 47 at the entrance to the valley offers fun in the water and action from wakeboarding, rafting and canyoning to other fun sports.
